James Stafford’s new children book is a Christmas ‘number one’

James Stafford’s latest book How Wales Beat the Mighty All Blacks has been named the number one seller for December in the ‘English Titles for Children List‘ by the Books Council of Wales.

The hardcover book has featured at the top of the monthly chart twice in the past three months, despite it being unavailable for a few weeks due it it being sold out and a second run having to be quickly produced.

How Wales Beat the Mighty All Blacks (from Y Lolfa) is a fully illustrated picture book which will appeal to children (8+) and rugby-loving adults alike.

It tells the story of Wales’ heroic defeat of the All Blacks on their first tour to the northern hemisphere, in which they trampled all other opponents into the dust. The book focuses on Welsh captain Gwyn Nicholls and his decision to come out of retirement to face the biggest challenge of his life.

Rugby World magazine wrote of the book:

‘How Wales Beat the Mighty All Blacks is beautifully illustrated by Carys Feehan…Children’s sports literature has gone up a few notches in the past couple of years…Now Stafford’s collaboration with Feehan adds to that material.”

The book is available from all good booksellers and you can order a copy here.
